Dec. 28--DESTIN -- Former City Clerk Dana Williams has started an unlawful termination claim against the city, maintaining that she was fired for refusing to sell grave plots in violation of the city's code.
While the Destin City Council sent the crux of the cemetery controversy to the state attorney 's office for review, it looks like the fallout from Williams' role remains to be settled. Williams' claim is based on the Florida "Whistleblower's Act" law, according to a letter her attorney, Juan Carlos Moreno, sent to Destin last week.
