Jeff Cooper, one of the last of the writers in the firearms field worthy of the term "legendary," died on September 25 at his home near the Gunsite Training Center in Arizona. Cooper was 86 and had been in ill health for several years.
He was one of the original writers for Guns & Amino, which began publication in 1958. His articles and columns, including "Cooper on Handguns" and "Cooper's Corner," developed a loyal following and except for a few years in the early '80s were seen in every issue of the magazine, up to and including the most recent edition.
