Anderson, Darrell O.
BRODHEAD - Darrell O. Anderson died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1934, Darrell grew up in rural Belleville and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean War. He married Shirley Burkeland in 1953, and lived in Madison where he worked for Newendorf Trucking. Later the family would move to Brooklyn to start a dairy farm. The family farmed in Brooklyn for 28 years. Countless family and friends will treasure the memories of hot summer days working and playing on the farm. His wife Shirley died unexpectedly on Dec. 12, 1992. Following this difficult time, ...
