Paradise Valley Hospital's plan of correction to retain its funding for Medicare and Medicaid Services has been rejected by federal regulators for a second time.

Paradise Valley must satisfy demands issued by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services in San Francisco by Jan. 21, or it could lose its funding for treatment of poor and elderly patients, which in turn, could shut down the hospital.

Last week, hospital Chief Executive Officer Alan Soderblom said CMS called Nov. 21 and said they had further recommendations for the hospital, but Soderblom said he did not yet have specifics.
