For three years now, weather forecasters have warned us that our unusually hot summers were just an anomaly that had nothing to do with global warming.
Sooner or later, they warned us, things would cool off.
"Well, welcome to normal!" said Ken Reeves of Accu-Weather forecasting service. Since June, our temperatures have actually been 2.5 below normal.
"That may not sound like much, but it's a significant cooling trend," he said, "especially when you consider that the past few summers have been well above normal."
Last June, for example, was 2.3 above normal and last May was 5.7 above normal. ...
