County Democratic Chairman Harold Joyce has named another new committee in keeping with his pledge to open up the party organization.
Joyce tapped Martha H. Pofit, vice president for strategic planning for the New York State Hospital Association, to head the new 20- member public policy committee. Pofit served on the Hickey Commission, a Joyce-appointed task force that recommended ways to restructure party operations.
"It will enable us to clearly distinguish and communicate those principles for which the Democratic Party is best known," Joyce said about the new committee.
