The value of real estate sold in the Capital District in the first quarter of the year rose 5 percent compared to the first quarter of 1991, providing a small break from a three-year downward trend.

According to a study of real estate activity conducted by the Sunday Times Union, $247.4 million worth of commercial and residential real estate was sold in the first three months of 1992.
