It's not Hollywood-on-the-Lake yet, but Chicago continues to produce a growing number of films and filmmakers. The latest: William Petersen.
Most films by John Hughes ("Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Home Alone," "Only the Lonely") have been shot in and around his native Chicago. Theater companies such as Second City and Steppenwolf have served as the springboard for a number of movie names.
Petersen, his partner, Cindy Chvatal, and others started the Remains Theater Ensemble in Chicago in the early 1970s. More recently, Petersen and Chvatal formed High Horse Films, and they have produced a Columbia Pictures ...
