BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPNT) today announced that it has completed its previously announced sale of 155-bed Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia, to Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association, South Charleston, West Virginia. Saint Francis Hospital had been classified as an asset held for sale since its purchase in June 2006 from HCA Inc. Proceeds from the sale of approximately $40.4 million were used to pay down a portion of the Company's outstanding debt.
