BOULDER -- While the rest of the country watched the Fiesta Bowl in amazement, Dan Hawkins quietly - OK, perhaps noisily at times - contemplated the steps required to plant Boise State football in the national spotlight.
"It's much more of a story than just what happened (Monday) night," Hawkins said Tuesday, referring to a philosophical continuity, recruiting, nurturing, persevering and finally - even if from afar - seeing a dream reach fruition.
The Monday night denouement to a story Hawkins helped start was fairly phenomenal.
