Jan Eliot spends a lot of time in schools, malls and playgrounds.
Even with her children are all grown up, Eliot still finds herself immersed in family life. Especially that of the Stone family.
Eliot, of Eugene, Ore., writes the comic strip Stone Soup, which follows the lives of next-door-neighbor sisters Val and Joan Stone. The strip begins today in the State Journal, replacing Foxtrot, whose creator, Bill Amend, has decided to cut back and will only produce the strip for Sundays. Foxtrot will continue in the Sunday State Journal.
