THE developing UK profile of Danish co-operative MD Foods has been a significant feature of the run-up to the free market for milk. Once best known as the main supplier of Lurpak butter the group has built a broader portfolio from fresh milk to fruit drinks.
Now Britain's fourth largest dairy company, according to Kim Nielsen, chief executive of its Leeds-based UK subsidiary, MD is poised to become an even more efficient performer.
