IN the UK, nearly five million pots of yogurt are consumed every day, to give an annual average of 4.7kg eaten by every man, woman and child. These quantities add up to yearly sales in excess of 500m[pounds] and underline why Muller is keenly interested in supplying branded product to this sector. Ken Wood, managing director of Muller in the UK, said: We ended 1993 up four percentage points to give us a 22% value share, and this confirmed our position as the fastest growing brand. The Muller range set a new gold' standard in terms of quality. We are fighting to keep pace demand and our dairy at Market Drayton is now fully operational for 12 months of the year."
