HOLLYWOOD -- Even here in the glitz capital of the world, Danny Aiello is something special.
When he walks down Melrose Avenue or Sunset Boulevard, horns honk and drivers shout compliments at him.
This kind of superstar treatment was a long time coming for Aiello, 57, who gave his career its biggest boost by making a pizzeria owner named Sal into much more than a simple bigot in Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing."
"The generosity people show me just tickles my heart," says Aiello, in town from his northern New Jersey home to promote his newest movie, "Me and The Kid."
