You're America's new poet laureate, and you face a culture that hasn't exactly embraced the sensibilities of your calling. What will you do?
"In this age of pop culture personality cult and fleeting celebrity, I believe the poet laureate has the duty to try to reclaim lost public ground for serious literature," Rita Dove said Wednesday.
