Though the NBC picture has dimmed in recent years, its parent company, General Electric, can take particular pride in G.E. Smith. As the musical director of "Saturday Night Live," which is one of the network's bright spots, Smith consistently sparks energy and excitement.
The soulful guitarist has, for eight years, been heard leading his hot group as the show goes into and out of commercial breaks. Now G.E. Smith and the Saturday Night Live Band can be heard on their own Liberty Records album, "Get a Little."
