He is honored on a holiday meant for reflection.
But the irony of the Chester A. Arthur Memorial Day service is that few people remember much about the Capital Region resident who became the 21st president.
"We think he generally didn't get as much credit as he deserved," said Martin O'Connell, chairman of the event.
Without fanfare, about 100 people, mostly members of the Capt. Wm. Dale O'Brien Detachment of the Marine Corps League, and Boy Scouts from the Twin Rivers Council, attended the ceremony.
