Taiyo Yuden offers 8 mm x 8 mm x 4 mm wire-wound power inductors for DC/DC converter choke coil applications in LCD and plasma TVs, automobile navigation systems, home video game consoles and other devices. The 13 models in the NR8040T Series feature a combination of low DC resistance (0.006[ohm] to 0.29[ohm]), high inductance (0.9 [micro]H to 100 [micro]H) and high current ratings (1A to 11.8A). The NR8040T device, for example, offers what is said to be the industry's highest rated current (3.4A at 10 [micro]H) in the 8 mm x 8 mm form factor.
