NEW YORK ``Me and Jezebel'' is a play that tells the true story of how actress Bette Davis arrived at a Connecticut home to spend a few nights and wound up staying more than a month.
The play, which opened recently at off-Broadway's Actors Playhouse, begins when Elizabeth Fuller invites a friend to dinner. The friend brings her houseguest, the 77-year-old Davis. The next day, when the friend leaves town, Davis calls Fuller and says she's moving in for two days because there's a hotel strike in New York.
