LOS ANGELES ``My movies have almost always come out much rougher than I ever imagined them,'' says screenwriter Steven E. de Souza, whose name appears on many of the most successful and influential action films of the past 15 years: ``48HRS.,'' ``Commando,'' ``Die Hard'' and ``Die Hard 2'' to name four out of a prolific 14 that have seen life in theaters.
De Souza recalls writing a scene for Arnold Schwarzenegger in ``Commando'' in which the hero is trapped in a garden shed and must throw a circular saw like a Frisbee to take out one guy and hurl a pitchfork like a spear to immobilize another.
