Jan. 4--SAN FRANCISCO -- No tattoos were visible on Barry Zito's body Wednesday morning, but figuratively speaking, the man will be wearing more indelible ink from now on than Allen Iverson.
Zito, the former A's ace starting pitcher, slipped across San Francisco Bay last week, enticed by $126 million over seven years to sign with the Giants. Now, he just has to live up to it, because if he doesn't, the fans' patience will be short.
"You might as well tattoo that number to your forehead," general manager Brian Sabean told the 28-year-old.
