ALBANY Real estate sales in the Capital Region have reached their highest level since 1989, according to a Times Union study, despite a decline in sales by Realtors.
The Greater Capital Association of Realtors Inc. said Tuesday that Realtors sold 1,065 houses in the first three months of the year, down 2 percent from 1,084 in the same period a year ago. According to the report, the number of contracts of sale, an indicator of future sales activity, was down 3 percent.
