State University at Albany anthropologist Dean R. Snow, besides editing ``Iroquois Medical Botany,'' has recently completed his own book, ``The Iroquois,'' (Blackwell Publishers, 1994).

The book, which should be in local bookstores within weeks, is described as a sweeping narrative that traces Iroquois culture from its beginnings a thousand years ago to its survival in today's United States and Canada.

``It's a multidimensional subject,'' Snow says, adding that the book was conceived as a starting point for people who want to learn about the Iroquois.
