LONDON Twenty years ago, a bloodstained woman staggered into a pub in West London and told patrons that her husband had just murdered her nanny and tried to kill her.
She was Veronica, Lady Lucan, the estranged wife of aristocratic gambler John Richard Bingham, the Seventh Earl of Lucan. He disappeared the same night, and is still sought by Scotland Yard.
When police entered the Lucans' home on Nov. 7, 1974, a pool of blood led them to the body of 29-year-old Sandra Rivett packed in a U.S. mail bag. Lucan was gone.
