The Jefferson Hill Tea Room's charm goes beyond English beverages and dainty decor.
For Naperville resident Branka Matevich, the longtime downtown Naperville institution has been her family's "girl place" and the spot where her daughter, Liz, grew up learning proper table manners.
"It's a place where we could sit and talk," Matevich said Thursday after her final lunch at the tea room, which closes this weekend after 32 years. "When the kids were little, it was important to take them to a place that wasn't fast food, where they could learn how to behave in public."
