LOS ANGELES Crime paid again for producer Steven Bochco when his hard-edged ``NYPD Blue'' received a record 26 Emmy nominations Thursday, surpassing the 21 earned by his cop show ``Hill Street Blues'' in 1981.
Bochco savored the moment for about a moment then declared: ``We've got work to do.''
``It was just amazing,'' he said from his Los Angeles home. ``We know we are doing a first-rate show and we knew we would get a share of the nominations, but this is wonderful.''
