TROY The city gave a star-spangled Yankee Doodle dandy of a parade Sunday for favorite son ``Uncle Sam'' Wilson, that symbol of . . . shrugs and befuddlement?
Well, that was the near-universal reaction of the younger set along the parade route when, in a totally unscientific survey, they were asked who Uncle Sam was.
Melissa Ketz, 9, of Cohoes was crestfallen when queried, as if she had flunked a surprise quiz at Abram Lansing School, where she's a fifth-grader. She couldn't even venture a guess.
