Kevin Bacon is not the hero in his new movie, ``The River Wild,'' and he likes it that way. Not that he's into villains, per se he's played only one major baddie before, in 1987's ``Criminal Law'' but he modestly admits that he sees himself as more of a character actor than a film's heroic centerpiece.
``The one thing I've learned is that I'm much more comfortable in that skin,'' Bacon said recently in an interview. ``It's something I really respond to. I know what my day's work is about.
