LOS ANGELES When Jason Scott Lee signed on to play the lead in ``Rapa Nui,'' he envisioned a film that would do for Polynesians what ``Dances With Wolves'' did for American Indians.
When Esai Morales agreed to play Lee's adversary, he tried to inject some dramatic complexity into the latest of his cinematic black sheep.
