You might think given that in his 30-plus years as a musician he's never been the focal point onstage taking the reins as both lead singer and lead guitarist might be a bit worrisome for Jimmie Vaughan.
Vaughan's mind-bogglingly cool lead guitar work was always the main instrumental feature of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, but it was always Kim Wilson who sang and introduced the songs.
Vaughan left the seminal Texas blues band about five years ago. In 1990, his younger brother, guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, was killed in a helicopter crash.
