GUILDERLAND The year Woodstock burst onto the cultural scene, the town of Guilderland quietly bought a park, gave it a Native American name and turned it into the centerpiece of summer entertainment.
So it seemed only fitting to parks director Dennis Moore to host a Native American performer this year as Tawasentha Park celebrates its 25th anniversary, and the Guilderland Performing Arts Center marks its 15th year.
Tawasentha is the Indian name for Normans Kill Valley, the birthplace of Henry Rowe Schoolcraft whose travels inspired the poem ``Hiawatha'' by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Today, the kill runs ...
