The Town Board immersed the Albany County Airport in politics again by appointing two politically connected Republicans to the new airport authority advisory board, county Legislator Timothy Nichols charged Wednesday.

"The whole purpose of the authority was to get the politics out of the airport," said Nichols, a Colonie Democrat. "This sort of flies in the face of that. To inject politics into this is a shame, and that's clearly what the town did."

On Feb. 10, the Town Board voted unanimously to recommend Paul Burgdorf and Dean Rueckert as the town's representatives on the non-voting advisory board. ...
