Why is it necessary for farmers to add a growth hormone to their milk cows? Why should the federal government insist that consumers not be told if the milk they buy comes from cows so treated?
A) It isn't necessary. B) It makes no sense to keep milk drinkers in the dark.
If this country had been suffering from a shortage of milk, cows or dairy farmers, one might understand the rush to produce -- and use -- a genetically altered drug that boosts milk production.
