Residents of this Columbia County town will tell you it's a real country town and that they like it that way.
"We're not all that built up and are very convenient to Hudson and Chatham, where we do most of our shopping," said Calvin Pitcher, a retired seventh-and eighth-grade American history teacher at Chatham Central Middle School.
"It's a handy place, with lots of privacy, friendly residents and great scenery. And we're not exactly ashamed of the Taconic Parkway -- it's a beautiful thing with a lot of sections that offer magnificent views for miles around."
