Ever since Joycelyn Elders packed up her condom tree and went home to Arkansas, discussions of sex education have lost their outrageousness. No more snickers allowed. It's time for serious discussions which transcend the technology of ``how to do it and do it safely.''
The surgeon general represented the apogee of absurdity when she hailed solo sex as a kind of pleasurable protection for our youngsters, worthy of classroom scholarship. The sexual revolution hit a dead end or at least a cul-de-sac. That's not all bad as long as somebody's looking for a way to turn the revolution around. And somebody is.
