In interviews, Nicholas Evans has expressed concern the money he received for his first novel, ``The Horse Whisperer'' $3.15 million from Dell Publishing, another $3 million from Robert Redford's production company for film rights will cause cynical critics to give the book bad reviews.
His fears are groundless. ``The Horse Whisperer'' deserves to be panned solely for its lack of merits.
If you loved ``The Bridges of Madison County,'' you may love ``The Horse Whisperer,'' because in some ways Evans' novel might have been cloned from Waller's. The plot is more complicated, but the core of it is much the same. ...
