Temperatures in the high sixties and fair skies should make it pleasant today for anyone with outdoor chores, but not for fleas, which may be itching for a warmer environment such as the fur on your pet to produce their eggs.
Until November, or until we get a good hard frost that will kill off the pesky, prolific parasites, they will continue to do just that.
But a drug, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last fall for dogs and this summer for cats, can make it easier for us to prevent and control the flea population on our pets and in our homes.
