MOREAU Town Councilwoman Anne Kusnierz wants the town to stop doing business with Burt's Tree Service, whose owner was indicted last week for allegedly stealing money from the town, and to seek bids for a new contract to haul sand to the town landfill.
The town has continued to buy sand from Burt's Tree Service of South Glens Falls at $1.49 per ton for use at the town dump, even though its contract with the firm expired April 1, Kusnierz said Thursday. She said no new contract has been authorized since then.
