ROME Italy's 3-year-old revolt against political corruption has run smack into a counterrevolution.

Dissident prosecutors and their political backers are assaulting the judicial proceedings that have destroyed Italy's postwar political order through hundreds of corruption cases brought against leading businessmen and politicians, including two former prime ministers.
