EAST SCHODACK -- Early settlement in this compact hamlet of winding roads and rolling fields began at the beginning of the 1800s along the Moordener Kill, where development of businesses and mills continued until the turn of the 20th century.
Many of the well-kept clapboard houses date from the middle of the last century are sprinkled about a mile in each direction of the main intersection of routes 150 (East Schodack Road) and 7 (East Hoags Corners Road).
