HOUSTON In the world of computer games, boys are expected to storm the enemy coast or fight off alien invaders. Girls are left out.
That's Laura Groppe's point.
Groppe is president of Girl Games Software, a Houston firm that designs computer games for preteen to teen-age girls. The former film producer and director is an Oscar winner and also has won awards from the Sundance Film Festival and MTV.
Going from film to software isn't as dramatic a leap as it sounds, Groppe said.
