Those of us who have spent time ``on the bus'' with the Grateful Dead know all too well the rigors of the road. My hard-core touring, or chasing after the Dead, took place in what modern Deadheads might consider the Pleistocene Era . . . the early and mid-'70s.
From city to city, I followed the band in my personal tour bus a battered old Camaro with a wired-together exhaust system and a dead animal stuck in the heat vent.
