Sam Pryor, the president, and Andy Falender, the executive director, led a group of Appalachian Mountain Club members from the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center to the Madison Spring Hut in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest last Saturday for a purpose.
In addition to the warblers and the white-throated sparrows, these members, already donors of $1,000 or more, heard about the re-permitting process, Alpine ecology, acid rain and the myriad other subjects that concern the Appies in the club's 119th year.
