In all the talk about poverty and welfare reform, has anybody really listened to those who hire poor and can take them off the dole? As a small businessman, that's my role, and my experience might be of interest to legislators.
For example, one solution welfare reformers have long touted is job training. On the surface, job training is a noble and logical strategy. But I will state flat out that, based on the rhetoric I hear about job training both current and anticipated the federal and state governments are barking up the wrong tree.
