WASHINGTON _ Out of the public's eye, but seething with ethnic hatred, Burundi is another Rwanda in the making.
The horrors of Rwanda _ the tribal warfare, genocidal killings and flight of millions _ threaten to be repeated with grisly accuracy in neighboring Burundi, U.S. officials, diplomats and refugee advocates warn.
``There's this sense of impending doom,'' said Jeff Drumtra, an expert on Africa for the U.S. Committee for Refugees. ``The only surprise is that Burundi hasn't exploded already.''
