COLONIE While adamantly defending the state's hiring of three family members, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno insisted Thursday that there will be no more Brunos joining the public payroll.
``Absolutely, there's a perception problem. It's a serious problem and I understand and recognize that. . . . But I feel in my heart that my family should not be second-class citizens,'' Bruno told Times Union reporters and editors.
Since Gov. George Pataki took office and Bruno, a close ally, became the top Senate Republican in January, three Bruno family members have received state jobs. Bruno's son and son-in-law work for the Office of General Services; ...
