The concept of concept cars is changing.
For decades, automakers' concept cars and trucks, too were wild, futuristic vehicles that sported all sorts of exotic shapes and Flash-Gordon-like electronic gizmos.
Their primary mission was to draw attention to manufacturers' displays at auto shows. If showgoers liked a particular car, some of its styling cues might show up later on a production model. Rarely were concept vehicles put into production.
