Meet Stumpy, an 18-foot great white shark known to singlehandedly devour three 500-pound elephant seals in one hunting season.
But contrary to popular myth, she is not a mindless killing machine. In fact, Stumpy's got personality.
``She is an extremely efficient hunter,'' says Paul Atkins, co-producer of the new ``National Geographic Special: Great White Shark,'' airing at 8 tonight on WNYT, Channel 13. ``She's an ambush predator, and she comes out of nowhere.
