The estimable New York State Senator from Brunswick, Joseph Bruno, told our reporter Sunday that ``Your editors ought to be shot.''
That fate, which as of presstime had not yet come to pass, was evidently warranted, in the senator's mind, by the reporting the Times Union had done in recent weeks on the matter of the firing of state workers and the prospective layoffs of many more. Specifically, this newspaper reported what it had learned from the Pataki administration and from other state officials.
