ALBANY -- For the first time, the Albany Symphony Orchestra included a performance of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's complete ballet ``The Nutcracker'' on its eight-concert subscription series this season.

Conducted by Music Director David Alan Miller, the performance Saturday night at the Palace Theatre accompanied Capital Ballet's lavish production of founding director David Otto's choreography ``after Balanchine,'' referring to George Balanchine's epic 1954 restaging for the New York City Ballet.
